THE PROBLEM:
Preparing for a major application rollout is stressful enough even without adding the unknown factor of just how many users will be calling with complaints because the application just won't work. Testing each remote user desktop for configuration and application compliance is often a time consuming task involving multiple emails or phone calls, numerous checklists, and lots of head banging.
THE SOLUTION:
A DesktopAnalyzer script file identifies the series of tests to be conducted on end-user computer systems. The script file is very similar in format to any Windows INI file format and can be edited using any text editor (like notepad.exe). Now, creating tests to diagnose a one-off support call or test your entire user community for application compliance is easier than ever.
A default script file, script.txt, is included with the release and may look similar to the image shown at right (click image to enlarge). The default script is meant to be used as a template for creating your own scripts.
Customizable test scripts may include tests for any of the system parameters identified in the table below. Each individual test within a script can contain specific messages or instructions based on the test results. The deployed agent can also be configured to snap a screen capture, complete a detailed IP configuration test, provide an automated email link for submitting the test results or provide results in HTML format.
Desktop Analyzer Test Script Parameters |
